Easton's Haircut

Easton's growing his hair out and this is the in between hairstyle! The hair stylist said she was going to try and cut it like Justin Bieber...Biber? I don't know who the heck that is, but Easton apparently did, how is it my kids know more than me?

Draper Park

After walking the trail we spent some time playing at the Draper Park. The kids love this park; there are so many different things for them to play on.

Porter Rockwell Trail

Over Labor Day Weekend we took some time to go and walk the Porter Rockwell Trail in Draper. The kids rode their scooters and "Canster" rode in his little chariot!

Gracee + Violin = Earplugs

Gracee started violin lessons yesterday. All I can say is what an experience. I might as well get me a violin and learn right along with her. This is definitely going to be a two person experience for the first little while as she (meaning we) learn more about the violin. She gets an A+ for enthusiasm, she wants to practice all the time, and not just practice playing it, no Gracee takes this a step beyond. She practices posing with it (for pictures of course), walking with it, putting it in and out of it's case, naming all the parts (which she already has completely memorized) and the list goes on. She would probably sleep with it if I didn't put my foot down. The good news is she is still excited about it and bless her she is really trying to make those strings sound pretty...so if you have any amount of love for our family, please throw a few prayers heavenward and some well wishes our way that those strings start to cooperate really soon!!!!!!

Soccer, soccer and more soccer!

Shane and I asked ourselves the other night how do these parents do it when they have more than one kid in a sport???? We only have two, Easton and Gracee and between the games and practice our nights are spent hopping from one kid to the next and occasionally playing tag team! It's crazy! Why we do this...there is only one logical answer.. we have been driven to insanity by the very children who love to play and especially love the post game treats!

On the bright side, Gracee actually runs after the ball this year, infact she has already made two goals, and is really getting into it. This is a huge improvement over last year where she was continually asking the coach for a rest break because she was just tooo tired to play. Easton, is also doing great this year, he's a great passer and has also scored a goal. Shane is helping out with Easton's team this year, which has been great for both of them! As for Canster he just likes to chill outside!

Baby Edward???

Shane says that Cannon's teeth are a direct result from all the vampire books I read while I was pregnant...whatever the reason we completely love our little vamp baby!

Gracee Starts Kindergarten

Can you believe, Gracee started Kindergarten this year? I can't! Her time at home with me has gone by so quickly, thank goodness it is only half day kindergarten. She was a bundle of excitement and nerves this morning waiting for her time to go to the "Big School." She is such a sweetheart, and is going to add so much enthusiasm to her class. Her teacher already got her first Gracee gift...a handful of wild flowers (dandelions and morning glory) she picked on the way to school for Ms. Sara! I love that girl! That being said, I'm going to take advantage of the fact, I only have a sleeping Cannon home right now, my house is blissfully quiet, and I have a to do list a mile long which does not include blogging!

Easton's First Day of 2nd Grade

Easton officially started his first day of 2nd Grade today at the Ranches Academy. He is in Ms. Milton's class and is very excited. I am equally excited as both the school and his teacher have been great to work with by allowing me to home school him half day and go to school the other half. He is getting so big, and truth be told if I didn't still get to teach him in the mornings, I would have probably broke into sobs today! He is such a great kid!

Hip Hip Hooray for ME!!!!

Hip Hip Hooray for me....I figured out how to change the text color on my blog! I know many of you reading this probably think this sounds really stupid, but it has taken me over three days and I admit a lot of cursing and maybe even a little cussing to make this all happen! Really though I should blame all you (my family and friends) who have not given me all your blogging trade secrets and have left me to fend for myself in blogger world! I will however give my little sis a pass as she did set up those links on the side, which I have now learned are called side bars, in case any of you are as behind the times as I am! The rest of you though, what have you to say for yourselves????? Don't worry I still love you, besides being as how my memory is still shot and by tomorrow I will probably forget all about this, including how to change the text color, you will most likely all have a chance to redeem yourselves in the near future!

Spaghetti Anyone???

We started giving Cannon a taste of "real" food this week...it's unlikely after his spaghetti experience canster will ever go back to the pureed squash, sweet potatoes, and other concoctions we whipped up in the blender for him! He was a little hesitant at first, (I think he thought we were going to take it away)..but once he realized he really got to eat it, he started shoveling it in with both fists!

Palisades 2

Well I decided I would finish my original post...I had to quit last time or my computer might've had a meeting with my baseball bat! I was so frustrated...who knew blogging takes so stinking long and I still didn't get it the way I wanted..how on earth do you change the color of the font? If this one doesn't go faster, I officially turn in my girl scout blogging badge and quit!!!!! So that being said as Paul Harvey would say..."Now for the rest of the story..."

I know it looks like a mountain of food...it was, but it sure was good! Compliments to the chefs, all our men folk. Isn't it amazing how willing men become to cook when you are in the mountains and they get to use all their "boy toy cookware?" Of course none of it would have been possible without all their great wives who prepared, cut and planned for such a feast...that's right girls we know where the real work is!!! Thanks to grandma and grandpa who came to visit and have dinner with us. It was great to have you there for the evening! A few more pics....

Palisades

I've decided that camping trips need to last longer than 2-3 days... they involve way to much work to get ready and end up going by way too fast. That being said we obviously had a great time with the Wilson Clan. We had a few days of lounging on the "beach," canoeing, paddle boating, golfing for the guys (a game I full heartedly admit I see absolutely no point to) and even a little bit of hiking.

Due to fire restrictions, there were no campfires allowed, but that didn't stop uncle JJ from helping all the kids make s'mores. My curiosity even got the best of me and I not only fell prey to evils of advertising and purchased a bag of the giant campfire mallows...I ate one. I have to say, they were incredibly messy, but extremely good. Not surprising, the kids determined they were too big for there allotted grahm cracker and chocolate and of course lobbied for the full grahm cracker and entire chocolate bar! They lost. We still wanted them to go to sleep!

We weren't sure how little canster would fare with no crib or even a playpen to contain him while he sleeps, but he did remarkably well on the bottom bunk of the trailer in the confines we set up for him. However, he found great pleasure in playing peak-a-boo out the window with all of you who thought it great fun to entertain this notion of his! As much fun as we had with the kids, I will admit I enjoyed when they all passed out for the night and left all us adults in silent bliss!

Just Chillin'

While we spent most of our time at the Pool, we did go for a couple of walks along the bay. Our hotel was down in historic San Diego, so we spent some time wandering around and browsing the little shops. The kids liked the crazy looking trees, watching the ships come in and out and of course the ice cream the best.

Swimming at the Pool

While Shane was at his conference Monday through Thursday, the kids and I spent the majority of the day at the pool. I have to say it was quite relaxing, Easton and Gracee swam, I read and chubba bubba took his naps under the cabana. It was hard to imagine it was snowing back in Utah while we were basking in the sunshine!

I HATE BLOGGING!

Okay, so I finally tired of everyone getting on my case over my very unupdated blog, which isn't even a word, but I don't care right now because I am so frustrated with this whole process!!!! I cannot figure this dang program out. My pictures are all over the place, the typing is not where I thought I put it, and I have four drafts of the same exact thing. I deleted a picture on accident, can't figure out how to get it back and I have no clue how to view my past posts to see if they are there or not. I can't even begin to comprehend how to do all the little extras, you professional bloggers have all over yours! So be it known, I hate blogging. Should I decide to continue on with this completely ridiculous notion of blogging, just know I do it for you, my family and friends who live far away and don't get to see my crazy kids on a regular basis! Oh and don't get your hopes up, it may be another couple of years before I get back to publishing another post!

Sea World 2010

Shane had a business conference in San Diego, so we decided to take the kids and turn it into a vacation. We started the week out by going to Sea World. The kids had a lot of fun riding the rides with dad (I volunteered to stay behind with Cannon...oh and did I mention, soak them with the water cannons!) They also enjoyed seeing the shows, touching the starfish and seeing all the animals. It was a bit more challenging this year with baby in tow, but we had a great time!
